DIY Your Own Back to School Pennant! Such a fun activity to get the kids excited about going back to school.

Supplies:

  • White Card Stock

  • Hot Glue Gun

  • Scissors

  • Wooden dowel, skewer, or paper straw

  • Cotton String or Yarn (optional)

  • This FREE Template or you can purchase This already completed printable pennants from my etsy shop here

  • Printer to print the template

Step 1:

Let’s Get Craftin’!

Step 2:

This step you can do a few things here!
- For my friends who like to come up with their own designs - go to town, break out the crayons and markers and create your own designs and hand letter your “First Day of School” phrase on to the pennant.
- For my friends who like things a little cleaner - add the download into word and add your own text and designs. From there, SAVE and PRINT!

Etsy Shop File :
If you are using the file from my etsy shop - all you have to do is print cut your designs!
This is an unlimited download so you can print as many as you like. We had friends over and the kiddos went to town coloring their own pennants over my design!

Step 3:

Cut pennant and use your glue gun to add your wooden dowel to your flag.


Alternatives to wooden dowels
- Skewer
- Paper Straws
- Cake pop Sticks
- Twisting 3-4 Pipe Cleaners together

Step 4:

This step is totally optional but I think it takes it to the next level!
Adding a couple ribbons or some yarn to the base of the pennant and dowel just adds a little extra ‘sparkle’!
